"The first week of August hangs at the very top of summer, the top of the live-long year, like the highest seat of a Ferris wheel when it pauses in its turning. The weeks that come before are only a climb from balmy spring, and those that follow a drop to the chill of autumn, but the first week of August is motionless, and hot. It is curiously silent, too, with blank white dawns and glaring noons, and sunsets smeared with too much color. Often at night there is lightning, but it quivers all alone."

Love the link on '3 less steps to bliss'...I could certainly use less clutter in my life in many aspects, but it is definitely the physical clutter that drains me. The line about we are building relationships with people not things is a great way to look at it.
Hope all is well on your end Dani. Thanks

I love that first quote about August. I always imagine the yearly calendar in a big circle just like that. It is comforting somehow. :)

A perfect pic to remind us of the bling and the bliss of Summer carnivals.

Katie - Thanks! I thought it was a good find - so perfect for this first week of August! I've never thought about a calendar as a circle, but I like that idea.
J.D. - Thanks! There's something magical about summer carnivals - and I love how the ferris wheel idea is used in the quote I found.
